Abbott has begun a partnership with Google Health that will combine glucose insights from its Lingo biowearable with Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) expertise.

The collaboration will integrate metabolic health insights into daily routines through an AI-powered experience. Lingo users will be able to view glucose trends alongside other health metrics in the Google Health app, while Health Coach will provide personalized recommendations for nutrition, activity, sleep, and recovery.

The partnership aims to connect glucose data to a more complete health picture, deliver AI-powered, personal health guidance, and establish new science about metabolic health. The duo plans to conduct a large real-world metabolic health study combining glucose, wearable, laboratory, and survey data to examine links between activity, sleep, well-being, and metabolic health.

Abbott’s Lingo over-the-counter continuous glucose monitor (CGM), which launched in the U.S. in September 2024, is worn on the back of the arm for up to two weeks and continuously streams glucose data to the Lingo app on a smartphone. A graph of glucose reactions updates in real-time based on continuous readings from the biosensor.

The company said that Lingo health integrations will continue to roll out in the Google Health app later this year.
